Double Dutch Derby
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 7, 2026
Double Dutch Derby ("the Game") is developed by MAKENZO ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information the Game collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It is specific to Double Dutch Derby; the studio-wide Makenzo Games privacy policy covers our website and our other games. The Game is made for a general audience that includes children under 13, so we follow children's-privacy rules (COPPA in the United States and GDPR-K in the EU/UK) and collect only the minimum information needed to run the Game.
The short version
- We do not show personalized or targeted ads. Ads are contextual (non-personalized) only.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Real-money purchases are handled by Apple or Google — we never see your payment card.
- A parental gate ("grown-up check") appears before any purchase.
- You play as an anonymous guest by default. Adding a display name or linking a social account is optional.
Information we collect
Account and gameplay data (through Unity Gaming Services):
- An anonymous player ID automatically assigned so your progress can be saved.
- Your game progress: best score, highest tier reached, best combo, and number of runs played.
- An optional display name you choose (screened for inappropriate words). If you set one, it is shown publicly on leaderboards next to your score.
- If you later choose to sign in with Apple, Google, Facebook, or Game Center, we receive a basic identifier from that provider to link your account. We never receive your social-account password.
Purchase data:
- Whether you have purchased "Remove Ads." Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play; we receive a confirmation only — never your payment-card details.
Advertising data:
- We show ads via Unity LevelPlay mediation and its partner ad networks. Because the Game is available to children, ads are non-personalized (contextual). Ad providers may still process limited technical data (such as device type, coarse region, and an ad-frequency / anti-fraud signal) to deliver ads and prevent abuse — not to build advertising profiles or track you across other apps.
Technical data:
- Basic device and connection information needed to operate online features (sign-in, cloud save, leaderboards) and to keep the service secure.
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers, and the Game does not ask for the iOS "App Tracking Transparency" permission, because we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
How we use information
- To save and restore your progress across sessions and devices.
- To show global leaderboards (display name and score).
- To provide optional account and social sign-in.
- To deliver non-personalized ads and to offer an ad-free purchase.
- To keep the Game working, secure, and free of abuse.
Children's privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)
The Game is intended for a general audience that includes children under 13, and we design it to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), including the FTC's 2025 amendments, and with GDPR-K in the EU/UK.
Data minimization and "internal operations." To run the Game we use a persistent, anonymous player identifier and basic device data solely to support internal operations — saving your progress, keeping you signed in, delivering non-personalized (contextual) ads and capping their frequency, preventing fraud, and keeping the service secure. We do not use this information to build advertising profiles, to track children across other apps or websites, or for any behavioral advertising.
Optional features that collect more. Two features are optional and off by default: (1) choosing a public display name, and (2) linking a social account. Where these would collect personal information from a child beyond what internal operations require, we obtain verifiable parental consent first, or restrict the feature for that user.
Purchases. A parental gate ("grown-up check") is shown before any real-money purchase.
We do not sell children's personal information, and we seek separate consent for any third-party disclosure that is not integral to providing the Game.
Who we share data with (service providers)
- Unity Technologies (Unity Gaming Services) — authentication, cloud save, leaderboards, and ad mediation.
- Ad networks connected through Unity LevelPlay — to serve non-personalized ads.
- Apple / Google — to process purchases.
- Social sign-in providers (Apple, Google, Facebook, Game Center) — only if you choose to link one.
We require these providers to handle data appropriately, and we do not sell personal information.
Data storage and international transfers
Data is stored on Unity Gaming Services and platform (Apple / Google) servers, which may be located in the United States or other countries. We keep data only as long as needed to provide the Game.
Your choices and rights
- Play anonymously — you can play as a guest without providing any personal details.
- Display name — optional; if set, it appears on public leaderboards.
- Remove ads — a one-time purchase removes interstitial ads.
- Access or delete your data — contact us to request access to, or deletion of, your account and its associated data. Depending on where you live (for example, EEA/UK under GDPR or California under the CCPA), you may have additional rights.
- You can also remove locally stored data by deleting the app.
Parents' rights
If you are a parent or guardian, you have the right to:
- Review the personal information we have collected from your child.
- Request deletion of your child's personal information.
- Refuse further collection or use of your child's information — you can continue to play as a guest, or stop using the Game.
To make a request, contact us at [email protected] with enough detail to locate the account (for example, the player ID shown on the Game's account screen). We will verify the request and respond within the time required by law.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your data protected.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the Game or on this page.
